Our client in Yarraville sought to upgrade the bathroom and adjacent laundry to accommodate a revised layout and more space in the laundry.
The high ceilings throughout allow for a darker palette to be selected, which, when used in conjunction with highlight windows and a tall narrow frosted louvre panelled window in the walk in shower, elicit ample lighting and a sense of spaciousness.
Stepping through a steel paned glass door, the unexpected dark fittings serve as a first impression in this now stylish bathroom. All black fittings are a bold choice and sit comfortably within the palette. These include a black toilet pan, black basin tap ware, black cabinetry, black shower arm, black heated towel rail and black accessories.
These serve to punctuate the space against the deep, raw hue of the tiles, Sand wall tiles, Flowtech ‘Russet’ shower nib wall (which houses a ‘pop out’ shaving cabinet that sits flush against the fully tiled wall), and Tattoo Black Floor & Shower window tiles.
The hero here is the custom made black concrete vanity sink/bench which is bookended by a pair of Ross Didier pendant lights oozing finesse and style.
At once the space is urban and modern yet raw and natural as the vista allows a touch of greenery from the rear of the house to be seen through the louvred windows.
