Located in cosmopolitan Carlton North, the owners of this gorgeous inner-city terrace sought to update the bathroom by giving it a modern refresh, while keeping in mind the classic elements of the home.

Adorned with period flourishes, our designer sought to keep a connection between the elegance of the old and the functionality of the new.

With a line of sight from the front door, a classic limestone was chosen as a transition between the hallway timber floor. It was also the perfect soft choice in this space to modernise while keeping a classic edge.  A feature wall of finger mosaics add variation in colour & texture with earthen tones of Japanese pottery.

A modern freestanding bath was chosen to replace the traditional claw foot that previously stood in its place.

A modern white, wall hung vanity increases the sense of space while giving ample storage along with face level mirrored storage.  Tapware remained in simple chrome to sit nicely alongside the original Victorian door, vintage window and architraves.

The result is a modern space which perfectly intersects the classic features of the home.  It creates a zen like quality to transport one from the busy outside world into a relaxing wellness zone.
