Bathroom Renovations Coburg

A classic 1970’s brown brick home with original features and so much vibe.

This project is a perfect example of how thoughtful design can elevate Bathroom Renovations Coburg, blending contemporary function with the charm of the original European-inspired details.

The bathroom itself was a great size but was packed full with a bath, vanity, toilet, bidet & shower! Our goal was to bring the space into a more modern layout without losing the European charm of the original.

The original towel rail & ring are an amazing golden brown perspex – way too good to throw away, so we used them as a starting point in the design.

Terrazzo, being a big feature of the era, was chosen for the main tile, with a bold burgundy gloss tile above.

We tied the burgundy back to the concrete basin and also used the terrazzo tile for the benchtop. Custom joinery in walnut with brass handles was introduced as a nod to the colour of the doors & architraves in the original home.

Tapware is a tumbled antique brass and fluted glass offers some obscuring of the walk-in shower.

The rest of the room was colour-washed in Haymes Light Camel paint to set the grout and colour edge of the wall tile. It is also a nod to the era of the home and sits beautifully with the perspex fittings, helping to create a cohesive and warm palette throughout this thoughtful Coburg renovation.
