Upon entry into this pretty Edwardian in Yarraville, you are struck by the high ceilings and beautiful details throughout. A previously architecturally designed rear addition certainly made good use of height and its beautiful garden outlook, and the refresh of the existing bathroom/laundry and ensuite was needed to keep the natural light flowing throughout.
An existing layout of ensuite and bathroom/laundry space on the other side of an adjoining wall was re-configured and highlight windows were used to allow natural light to flow from both ensuite and into bathroom/laundry space; at once allowing for a sense of spaciousness and freshness.
In the ensuite, the position of the fixtures and the door were rearranged, with the walk in shower and Mizu twin rail shower arm in Brushed Nickel positioned at the end of the ensuite. A tiled shower niche with waterproof LED lighting was also installed. The vanity wrapped in Elegant Oak Melamine and topped with the classic Caesarstone ‘Snow’ sets the tone of the modern space with a ‘Milli’ rectangular undercount sink paired with a ‘Milli’ basin set in Brushed Nickel. A recessed shaving cabinet and a hardwired, illuminating shaving mirror housed within, provide plenty of storage with under cabinet strip lighting attached under the edge of the cabinetry. A ‘Roca Meridian’ concealed cistern toilet is positioned discreetly next to the cabinetry and the two luxurious heated towel rails from Reece are a installed vertically and are a must for those wintery cold mornings. The space is finished with National Tiles’ Castello Ice porcelain wall tiles which add depth, texture and contrast of Italian Terrazzo and the floor tiles are Raman Grey Rectified porcelain from Perini.
The bathroom is accessed through the laundry space which itself sings in bright and vibrant in tones of peach and white, punctuated with Matt Black fittings. (see Laundries).
A freestanding ‘Moda, Chloe’ bathtub beckons with a soothing warm bath and is positioned underneath a large window. The Castello Griffin floor tiles give that warm contrast of Italian Terrazzo and a seamless flow through from the ensuite on the other side of the wall. A recessed shaving cabinet is paired atop the vanity wrapped in ‘Rock Maple’ melamine topped off with the Caesarstone ‘Snow’. A Gareth Ashton Formosa sink is paired with the Matt Black ‘Milli’ basin set. A walk in shower rounds out the room to the left with a handy wall niche and waterproof LED strip lighting available for showcasing all manner of luxe shower products. A Caroma Wall Faced toilet sits against the last wall.
A neat, stylish bathroom and a complimentary chic ensuite with loads of natural light is the final result which compliment the bright, roomy, ‘airy-ness’ of this beautiful home.
