The young family of this beautiful Edwardian home in the middle of buzzing Yarraville, wanted to update their existing bathroom/laundry area at the rear of the house while adding more storage and more usable space for a growing family.
Walls were removed and layouts completely changed which then enabled the addition of a new powder room.
The layout is key here; as maximum natural light filters throughout the bathroom giving it a fresh clean feel. The wall hung vanity which is clad in Polytec Tasmanian Oak timber in ‘Woodmatt’ finish and topped off in Caesarstone ‘Snow’, sits underneath a custom mirrored shaving cabinet. A stylish Montana Wall light fitting provides task lighting above the vanity area. The cleans lines of the Phoenix Vivid slim lined wall set sit well with the pair of Fino thin rimmed round basins and the gorgeous Carrara herringbone marble mosaic splashback.
The bathtub is situated underneath the window overlooking the garden, with a wall covered in the marble mosaic tiles as a feature. The separate walk in shower is adjacent to that, with the Phoenix Vivid Slimline Shower set & a clear frameless shower screen designating the area. A heated towel ladder within easy reach for warm towels come those chilly wintery mornings. Along the wall to the right, and completely out of view, a little alcove is the perfect spot for a discreet toilet.
The mix of Gemstone charcoal floor tiles and the Carrara herringbone marble mosaic wall tiles give a simple palette that will remain timeless and elegant.
A separate powder room in the same finishes as the main bathroom, was also able to be accommodated in this rear area. With a simple addition of this room, it allowed for multi-users at one time – no more queuing up.
At completion, the client loved the colours & materials included, the huge shower, the underfloor heating and the additional storage space that was provided.
