Client: Williamstown Bathroom
Designer: Ashlee Stark
This beautiful period home needed to find a new place for the bathroom (as part of a more extensive renovation), and one of the many bedrooms was the perfect, well-lit space for the task.
The desire was for a modern and elegant space whilst still complementing the period of the front of the house.
The palette for the bathroom was tackled first. Marble look tiles, warm greys and brass fixtures were selected in keeping with a modern elegance.
The WC was separated (with its own basin) from the main bathroom so the rooms could be used concurrently by different family members/guests.
Whilst an almost square room was a challenge, having to only place 3 main fixtures within the space naturally allowed for fixtures to be of a generous size. The bath nestled beneath both windows, and as the feature of the bathroom, is the first thing you see upon entering.
An LED strip light was incorporated within a minimal pelmet above the shaving cabinet to provide better task lighting and the warm timber look of the vanity cabinet brings warmth and depth to the space anchoring the brass finish of the fittings and the brass trim which separates the soft grey floor tile and the elegant marble tile.
