Having moved into their beautiful Victorian home in 2020, our clients knew immediately that they wanted to update the tired main bathroom and ensuite.
With 3 bathrooms in the home there was not one bathtub! This, along with more light and “a good clean design’ formed the bulk of the brief. The Inside Project was commissioned to undertake the design and build project, resulting in a beautiful & functional bathroom and ensuite.
The original main bathroom was not functional at all. Despite facing north, it was dark, had no bath and the toilet suite could be seen from the adjacent dining room table. This had to be tackled first! A large highlight window was added and the layout reconfigured to incorporate an ‘Atlanta back to wall bath’ and walk in shower. The toilet was relocated behind the door and separated from the wet zone by a custom textured vanity finished in ‘Dulux Latin Charm’.
Statement making fixtures & fittings in ‘Brushed Copper’ from the ‘Elysian’ range and a ‘Finley double twin shower arm’ were perfectly matched to the ‘Saanti double trim LED back-lit mirrors’ all from ABI interiors, giving the bathroom a luxurious feel. ‘Matt white pressed edge’ subway wall tiles sourced from National Tiles were used as a nod to the Victorian era of the home, displayed with a contrasting warm grey grout for added definition. The warm white picks up on the soft warm colour of the large format floor tiles, sourced from Beaumont Tiles ‘Sicily Stone White’.
There was less flexibility to change the layout of the ensuite that has the same palette and fixtures as the main bathroom giving a sense of continuity through the home. A large double vanity was introduced, along with floating shelves and a full width shower shelf to ensure ample storage for bath products.
