This large, light filled space was the perfect setting for some tall, dark and handsome cabinetry. The
galley layout of the original kitchen was maintained as it was the best use of the space, whilst the
adjacent combined butler’s pantry/laundry was reconfigured to ensure maximum storage and extra
bench space was provided.
Solid Tasmanian Oak pieces of furniture within the open living area inspired a large 3m long timber
benchtop in the kitchen island, complemented by a stone bench top and waterfall detail to one end.
The mix of different heights within the space creates a communal space within the home.
The overall design was kept as minimal as possible to ensure that the different colours and timbers
worked together with maximum impact. An undermount sink, integrated appliances and minimal
handles aided in achieving this look.
The final touch in the smoked mirror splash back brings the whole living space together, reflecting
the outdoor living space and creating the illusion of a window.
