The home-owners of this beautiful double fronted Victorian property in Moonee Ponds had gradually been updating their entire home, when we were engaged to renovate the dated second bathroom, located upstairs at the rear of the split-level extension.
The clients came to us after seeing the clean lines and subtle palette of our Scandinavian inspired Copenhagen design from our Destinations Range. Using this as a starting point, all finishes were tweaked to suit the clients discerning tastes.
Abey ‘Gareth Ashton’ fixtures in Matt Black were introduced in the bathroom to add contrast and complement black features added throughout the house.
The large format, soft grey floor tiles in ‘Glocal Clear’, have been used for the floor giving a seamless finish, and the small format rectangular feature wall tile “Helsinki” has been used with the lightest grey contrasting grout to subtly emphasise the texture and layout.
Continuing the matt finished surfaces, the vanity unit is Laminex ‘Raw Birch’ Ply with an Essastone Quartz benchtop in ‘Ash Concrete’, with a Timberline Matt White ‘Allure’ basin sitting perfectly on top.
The layout was only slightly changed by swapping the vanity unit and toilet location to make the vanity and mirror the focal point in the centre of the space.
What was already a well lit room, the bathroom off a children’s living zone, is now a fresh and contemporary space.
