Our clients wanted to renovate their house and add some modern elements to an already beautiful period home and in doing so kept the style simple and timeless, beginning with the new flooring installed throughout.
The new flooring continues to a new bigger kitchen which was relocated to the rear of the extension with a good sized butler’s pantry and separate laundry sitting adjacent to this open space. Ample storage and bench space was achieved with the large island bench situated centrally in the kitchen and anchored with the two pendant lights above. Frosty Carina caesarstone benchtop sits atop custom cabinets finished in Deluxe Natural White, which are punctuated with black accessories throughout in the form of handles, sink and tapware. Glass splashbacks line the kitchen and pantry walls adding light and movement to the space.
The palette of the kitchen, pantry (which was a must!), and laundry was kept the same so as to keep in line with the period look of the house, and also flow together.
Understated timeless colours were selected to stage the home that would stand the test of time and give a seamless quality. White, neutrals, touches of teak and pops of black.
A family bathroom was relocated from the back living area and created in a new space which is more central to the house. A larger ensuite sits alongside the master suite, across the hall, bathed in natural light filtered from above by the Velux fixed skylight.
The clients were happy to give up a bedroom, which has now been reconfigured as a study, with floor to ceiling joinery providing ample storage. Robes were also installed to every bedroom finished in Dulux Natural White using the Hampton profile from Polytec.
A beautiful end result for this home which will see many years of entertaining and family life still to come. (See also Bathrooms)
